After the planet's ecological collapse, humanity had to find a new way to survive. With other galaxies out of reach due to limited resources and technology, the Revenant O’Neill Cylinder was created to house the remnants of society willing to live in a new hybrid of digital and physical space to improve the sustainability of the people living there.
